"When lies and misinformation are amplified, at stake are people's lives, and those who amplify them are responsible for what happens."
We hope everyone will join us this Friday, September 12th at 6:00pm when we will officially install Rabbi David Mendelson as Congregation Beth Yeshurun’s Assistant Rabbi as part of our Shabbat Renewal Service. A celebratory oneg will follow the service. We hope to see everyone at this truly special evening.
Selichot
Start the High Holy Days with Selichot Saturday, September 13 at 8:30pm. Selichot are special prayers of repentance and forgiveness that begin late on the Saturday night prior to Rosh Hashanah and continue through Yom Kippur. These moving prayers, recited together as a community, help prepare our hearts and souls for the spiritual journey of the High Holy Days, creating a bridge between our everyday lives and this most sacred time of year.
Following a dessert reception, there will be a clergy panel with Rabbis Brian Strauss, Sarah Fort, David Mendelson, and Ranon Teller of Brith Shalom and moderated by Steven Sheldon. This will also be our first chance to hear the High Holy Day Choir and see our new white Torah covers that were purchased with the donations from the Year End Fundraiser.
