Celebrating Shabbat at Beth Yeshurun

Friday Night

Our Friday Night services welcomes the Sabbath through a combination of many different services. From Shabbat Renewal, which is often celebrated in the Freedman Levit Sanctuary, more traditional services are also held in the J.B. Greenfield Chapel, and special & family friendly services are held in the Barg Sanctuary. We also have an alternative Shabbat services for Families & children, Click Here for more information.

Saturday Morning

Shabbat morning is the main service in Judaism. Our Sabbath morning services, whether in the Barg Sanctuary, Freedman-Levit Sanctuary,  J.B. Greenfield Chapel, or the Museum Minyan, consist of basically three parts: the Shaharit Service, the Torah Service including an aliyah given by a Bat or Bar Mitzvah, and Musaf Service. The entire service typically lasts about two-and-a-half hours. Following the service, everyone is invited to join in the Kiddush, where refreshments are served.
