7:00 PM - 8:00 PMVia Zoom

In honor of the 1st Monday in October, when the Supreme Court begins its new term each year:

Ruth Bader Ginsburg: Law and Life

Who was the Notorious RBG, the revered Justice on the US Supreme Court who is the first Jew and the first woman to lie in state in our nation’s Capitol?  Why did this reserved, petite woman become a feisty dissenter on the Bench?  What ideals did she pursue?  What did her Judaism mean to her?  Throughout her career, she never lost focus on the human impact of the law.  This talk will avoid politics and focus on her life story, her advocacy for gender equality, her judicial pursuit of justice for all people, and her legacy as a mentor to thousands.

CBY member Dr Bernice Heilbrunn is, like RBG, a graduate of Harvard Law School -  but there the comparison ends!  She has taught classes on RBG to various audiences.
