This week we are joined by Dr. Manizeh Mirza-Gruber, psychiatrist and founder of Mindful in Practice.  Rabbi Strauss and Dr. Mirza-Gruber will talk about not just surviving, but thriving, during these challenging times.  Dr. Mirza-Gruber says "Being an island of support for others and making a meaningful difference in a person’s life is my purpose. My struggles and experiences have been my best teachers! I am a forever learner and want to share what has helped me with as many people."  We look forward to learning from her professional and personal experiences.

More about Manizeh Mirza-Gruber:

Manizeh Mirza-Gruber, M.D., is a licensed, board-certified psychiatrist with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.  She works in community mental health providing psychiatric emergency services and is also the founder of her private practice, Mindful in Practice™. As an individual, parent, and psychiatrist, she follows a holistic approach to life. She believes in connecting mind, body, and spirit for healing and is “mindful in practice”, taking one moment at a time to help others on their journey to becoming their true and authentic self.

Manizeh focuses on wellness – healthy lifestyle, stress management, exercise, and nutrition. She is a Certified Mind-Body Skills Facilitator with the Center for Mind-Body Medicine. She has been facilitating Mind-Body Skills groups and workshops since January 2018 to bring healing in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, and now through the pandemic. She is also a Certified Yoga Teacher with the National Association of Certified Yoga Teachers.

She is happily married to my husband and is mother to two adult children. Manizeh is an avid runner, a marathoner, and ultramarathoner and has a daily practice of running, yoga, and meditation. She loves to read, cook, spend time with family and friends, and volunteer. She is mindfully waiting for her next dog and is a forever learner.
