Our Rabbinical Assembly is proud to co-sponsor "Juneteenth Through the Eyes of Jews of Color: Sharing Stories and Perspectives" on Thursday, June 17 from 7:00-8:30 PM CDT. Panel members share their personal stories about what Juneteenth means to each of them, and consider its relevance for all members of our community. 

Juneteenth marks the date when news of emancipation finally reached Galveston, Texas, confirming the freedom of the last remaining enslaved people in the deepest parts of the U.S. South. To learn more, click here. Today, Juneteenth commemorates African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement.
