AJC Houston’s Community of Conscience – a group of diverse leaders committed to a pluralistic society based on common values - will host two town hall meetings this August about the Black experience in Houston.  The series will look at Black history in Houston since the 1960's and then explore more specifics about the economic inequalities facing our communities: education, housing, and health care.

Part 1:  Wednesday, August 12

This session will be devoted to Houston's Black historical legacy since the 1960's.  Presenters include Allison Leland, Gene Locke, and Judson Robinson III.  Please register in Zoom for Part 1 here

Part 2:  Wednesday, August 19

This session will focus on three of the economic inequalities facing the Black community:  education, housing, and health care.  This evening's program will feature Rabbi Steven Morgen, Amanda Edwards, Shad Bogany, Dr. Joseph Gathe, and Secretary Rod Paige.  Following the presentation, participants will be able to discuss one of the issues in more detail in breakout sessions and explore ways to become engaged in advocacy oriented endeavors. Please register in Zoom for Part 2 here.
