Mazel tov to our Bat Mitzvah, Elexis Brianna Segal, daughter of Dena & Scott Segal and sister of Brandon Segal. Elexis’ proud grandparents are Sharon & Richard Kammerman and Toby & Rabbi Jackz"l Segal. She is the great granddaughter of Ethel & Frank Beiberz"l, Fay & Milton "Mickey" Kammermanz"l, Sylvia & Joseph Chotinerz"l, and Bertha & Henry Segalz"l. Elexis is completing the 7th grade at The Emery/Weiner School. Although dance has been Elexis' passion since she was five years old, she has competed on the volleyball, basketball, and softball teams at school, and this year, on the tennis team. She loves dance class and participates in student government. Elexis looks forward to her summers at Camp Longhorn where she reunites with her friends from all over Texas, the USA, and the world. Elexis also enjoys traveling, but mostly, she is fulfilled by spending time with her family, friends, and loving her sweet dog, Roxie. Elexis will donate 100% of her monetary gifts to FIDF and Magen David Adom to show her love of and commitment to Israel, and, to MD Anderson Cancer Center in the hopes that the research at this hospital center will find a cure for all cancers. Elexis feels so much gratitude towards her family, friends, teachers and coaches at The Emery/Weiner School and Beth Yeshurun Day School, the clergy and staff at Congregation Beth Yeshurun, Julie Sacks and especially her tutor, Freda Wadler, for their love and support while preparing to become a Bat Mitzvah.
