Mazel tov to our Bar Mitzvah, Liam Jacobson, son of Julia and Stephen Jacobson, brother of Jack and Ellie, grandson of Jonathan M. Lake and Darlene and Byron Arbeit of New Orleans, Louisiana, Annette and Scott Ernstein of Houston, Texas, and the late Donny Jacobson. Liam is a 7th grader at The Kinkaid School. At Kinkaid, Liam is currently running cross country and plays soccer and lacrosse. He is a high honor student, active member in the school’s Jewish Heritage Club, and writes for the school’s newspaper, the Talon Times. Outside of school, Liam plays select lacrosse for Iron Horse and the SBMSA Knights, enjoys playing pickleball and golf with friends, loves traveling to New Orleans and Colorado, and looks forward to his summers at URJ Henry S. Jacobs Camp in Utica, Mississippi, where he has spent the past 6 summers. Liam is participating in the Rabbi’s 10 percent plan, contributing 10 percent of his monetary gifts to Camp Dream Street, which is a camping program for children with physical disabilities hosted at URJ Henry S. Jacobs Camp. For his mitzvah project, Liam volunteered at the Aspen Animal Shelter this past summer. Liam is very thankful to his family, friends, the Beth Yeshurun clergy, and especially his tutor, Freda Wadler, for their love and support throughout his preparation to become a Bar Mitzvah.
