Mazel tov to our Bat Mitzvah, Sophie Bella Berman, daughter of Randee and Howard Berman, sister of Sammy and Ariella. Sophie is the granddaughter of Margaret and Louis^z’l Berman, and Lola Clayman and Stephen Clayman. Sophie is a seventh grader at The Emery/Weiner School, where she is involved in theater, dance and volleyball. For Sophie’s mitzvah project, she wrote personal letters to the soldiers serving in the IDF. Sophie is participating in the Rabbi’s 10% plan by donating a portion of her monetary gifts to the Texas Children’s Hospital, and to the Stanley H. Appel Department of Neurology at Houston Methodist Hospital, in memory of her Zaida, Louis Berman.

Mazel tov to our Bat Mitzvah, Sarah Miriam Levy, daughter of Naomi & Mike Levy, sister of Jake and Alex, granddaughter of Erika & Mannie Magid, Larry Jaeger^z"l, and Jill & Nat Levy^z"l. Sarah is a seventh grader at the Emery/Weiner school, where she plays softball, soccer, basketball, and volleyball. She also participates in her school’s student government and Model United Nations. For her mitzvah project, Sarah spent a week volunteer teaching with Global Volunteers at an elementary school in St. Lucia. She is also involved with the Thirst Project, helping to raise money to build a clean drinking water well in Eswatini. Sarah is very excited to be sharing her special weekend with her close friend, Sophie Berman.
