Beth Yeshurun 929 Project

Have you heard of “The 929 Project”? The Hebrew Bible has 929 chapters. Jews worldwide study one chapter of Scripture five days a week. With a few minutes, participants will have learned the entire Bible in just over three and a half years. Beth Yeshurun has our own free “929” email study group that is open to all and facilitated by Rabbi Danny Horwitz, who will regularly provide participants with the text and relevant questions for your consideration.  The group began the second part of the Bible, the Prophets, on July 22.

Why would YOU want to participate?

  • Because you want to know more about your religion and its roots.
  • Because learning the Bible is always an important activity for Jews.
  • Because it’s an easy way to absorb the text and its relevance.
  • Because it’s a way to join with other Jews in doing a mitzvah.
  • This project began last year on the first weekday after Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah, one year after the October 7 attacks, in part as a commitment to continued learning in memory of the victims.

Register here to receive the weekday 929 e-mails from Rabbi Horwitz!
