100 Jewish Men

Now in its tenth year at Congregation Beth Yeshurun, One Hundred Jewish Men is a membership group of men dedicated to improving themselves and each other as men, fathers, husbands, brothers, sons, friends, and Jews.

Through controversial, thought-provoking speakers, and small group discussions, we will explore what usually remains unspoken in mens lives at work and at home.

Rabbi Moshe Druin
Abracadabra - Is really Jewish Magic!
From the first magician, the Creator, through Moses until this very day, magic is part of our cumulative Jewish History. What is real and what is magic? Is what we assume to be nature, in fact supernatural? Find out how the Hebrew letters reveal secrets beyond what you see at first glance. Beyond the artistic beauty of their shapes, woven into these Hebrew letters are deep and inspirational meanings that provide lessons and guidance for living. But then, would you expect anything less from G-dly letters? Rabbi Moshe Druin was born in New York and his family made Aliyah when he was six. He has been through the three main streams of Judaism and has studied in Yeshivot of diverse affiliations in Israel. He was ordained as a Rabbi and Scribe in New York, where he met his wife Ahuva.

Rabbi Chuck Simon
What Does It Really Mean to Be A Jewish Man?

Finally, after two thousand years, people are beginning to study Men in general and Jewish Men in particular. Today women outnumber men on campus and increasingly in a number of professions. What are the implications for the future of the Jewish family? Rabbi Charles Simon has served as the Executive Director of the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs since 1981. Under his guidance, FJMC has produced numerous books, guides, films, and programs designed to enhance Jewish life, for men and women and their communities at large. An active innovator, Rabbi Simon has been responsible for the production of a host of materials designed to make Jewish life more accessible.
