Executive Board of Trustees

President – Dr. Steven Croft

Steven is a fourth generation member of Congregation Beth Yeshurun. He is a former chairman of the High Holy Days Committee and has served on the Membership, Budget & Technology Committees. He is a neurologist in private practice at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital. He and his wife, Adele have three children, Joel, Jeffrey and Robyn.

Vice President – Alan Levin

Alan arrived in Houston from Virginia on August 25, 1966 to attend law school. He became a member of Beth Yeshurun within two weeks and has served the Congregation in many capacities over the ensuing years. He is most proud and most enjoys his duties and responsibilities as Head Gabbai for it provides indescribable satisfaction and personal fulfillment. Alan has been practicing law for forty-one (41) years specializing in mediation and arbitration. He and Diane have been married for thirty-eight (38) years and have two adult children, Jonathan and Lindsay plus a wonderful new daughter-in-law, Yoela.
 

Vice President – Gary Nagler

Gary was born and raised in New York, and moved to Texas in 1979. He has made Houston his home since 1985. Gary has been a member of Beth Yeshurun since 1985 and has served on the Board of Trustees since 1994, serving two terms on the Executive Board. Gary has three children, Joel, Lauren and Andrew, all of whom attended religious school at Beth Yeshurun, and is partnered to Cody Bowman.

Vice President – Dan Roubein

Dan was born in New Jersey, has proudly called Texas home since 1993 and is honored to have the opportunity to serve Congregation Beth Yeshurun. Dan has served on the Beth Yeshurun Board of Trustees, as Chairman of the Ritual Committee and as Beth Yeshurun’s representative on the Board of Jewish Education. Dan is currently the Chairman of the Membership Committee. Dan and his wife, Toiee, have three sons, Zachary, David and Jacob.

Secretary - Arlene Staller

Treasurer – Sandy Herskovitz

Sandy was born in Cleveland, Ohio and has been a Houstonian since 1979. Sandy has spent many years as CFO for major retailers and is currently CFO for an oil services business. Sandy lives with his wife, Linda and has two children, Michelle Nathanson and Jonathan.

Immediate Past President – Stuart Wilson

Stuart was born and raised in New York. He has made Houston his home since 1981 and has a boutique litigation and transactional law firm. Stuart has been a member of Beth Yeshurun since 1981, serving in various leadership roles, including the Board of Trustees, and as Chairman of the High Holiday and Membership Committees. Stuart, his wife, Frida and sons, Gabe and Sam view the members of Beth Yeshurun as their extended family.
